Manufacturing Engineer - Westmeath
This role involves working with the development and installation of new products or production lines. Responsibilities include improving production processes, resolving technical issues, selecting tools for different machines, and analyzing problems to improve efficiency.
Main Objectives:
• Collaborate with teams to implement manufacturing improvements.
• Lead process optimization using engineering techniques to streamline product flow through the manufacturing cell.
• Use industrial engineering methods and company standards to establish resource requirements and material flow.
• Analyze product structures and processes to eliminate inefficiencies and reduce costs.
• Perform Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize manufacturing cell performance.
• Ensure achievement of company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Maintain compliance with relevant industry standards in the manufacturing area.
• Adhere to engineering change control, internal gate timing, customer commitments, project budgets, and departmental procedures.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to quality control processes.
• Analyze and report on production processes, downtime, cycle times, machine availability, and waste management.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with policies and relevant government laws.
• Review tool and equipment costs, predict future production overheads, and optimize workflow, space, and equipment placement.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs to keep equipment operational.
• Ensure staff adhere to manufacturer's procedures when operating equipment.
• Oversee the work of technicians and all personnel.
• Establish effective work sequences to maximize efficiency.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
• Degree in Engineering or a related Science discipline.
• Knowledge of automation and assembly processes, laser welding systems, robotics, validation lifecycle, Six Sigma problem solving, and supervisory experience is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and proficiency in computer-aided modeling and design software.
