Occupational Therapist – Senior Neurology, Dublin, Ireland
Cpl Healthcare in partnership with our client, a leading University Teaching Hospital provides both acute and tertiary care to approximately, people are recruiting for a Senior Occupational Therapist.
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will be part of a progressive and innovative inpatient and outpatient Neurology service working in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team and a wider Neurology team.
Duties and Responsibilities of the role include:
1. Provide a high quality Occupational Therapy service within the inpatient and outpatient Neurology service and will carry out clinical and educational duties as required.
2. Manage own caseload and for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment programmes for patients according to service standards.
3. Supervise Basic Grade / Student Occupational Therapists as well as Therapy Assistants and participate in their continuing professional training and development
4. Work closely with Senior/Clinical Specialist OT's in other clinical areas including Acute Medicine/Rheumatology/ICU/Trauma Orthopaedics to establish care pathways.

Candidates interested in the role must have:
12. A recognised qualification as an Occupational Therapist and be eligible for recognition and registration as an Occupational Therapist with CORU ( the Health & Social Care Professionals regulatory authority in Ireland
13. At least 3 years full time (or equivalent) post qualification clinical experience, working with people with a range of Neurological conditions/Neurodegenerative Diseases/Movement Disorders including Parksinsons' Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Stroke, brain injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Ataxia, Neuropathies, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
14. Experience in the supervision of staff grade and junior occupational therapists and/or students and/or therapy assistants
15. Complex seating experience
16. Experience completing functional cognitive assessments
17. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
18. Flexibility in work practice
