The Opportunity
We are seeking an Industrial Hygienist to join the SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) team in Swords. Reporting to the SHE Director, this role provides expert support across operations and departments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead exposure monitoring & containment programmes, conduct sampling, reports, and validations.
2. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) with risk assessments and banding.
3. Ensure chemical compliance (CLP & REACH) through audits, labelling checks, and awareness.
4. Manage ergonomics programmes, manual handling, and DSE assessments.
5. Advise on projects, equipment, and facility compliance.
6. Oversee safety programmes: hazardous substances, transport of dangerous goods, respiratory/hearing, asbestos, legionella, laser/radiation, and occupational health.
7. Deliver training & awareness on SHE/IH programmes.
8. Act as SME and contact point for incidents, audits, and compliance reviews.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum:
9. BSc in a scientific discipline.
10. Qualification (or working towards) in Industrial/Occupational Hygiene.
11. Proven IH/occupational hygiene exposure assessments experience.
12. Pharmaceutical manufacturing background.
13. Handling/containment of APIs & HPAPIs.
14. IH sampling plan development & field sampling.
Desirable:
15. Occupational Toxicology training.
16. Ergonomic & DSE assessments.
17. Regulatory audit/authority experience.
18. Plant/equipment qualification.
