ResponsibilitiesAthletic Trainers work directly with patients to provide care.

Under supervision of a physician or physician assistant, oversee prevention, assessment, management, treatment, rehabilitation, and counseling of athletic injuries within scope of practice.Review, obtain, and order diagnostic studies under physician direction.Obtain patient history, including injury details, medical history, allergies, and medications.Perform physical examinations, including strength testing, range of motion, sensation, palpation, and special tests.Provide rehabilitation education covering range of motion, stretching, strengthening, posture, and body mechanics.Educate patients and families continually.Assist physicians with procedures by prepping patients and assisting.Order advanced imaging, referrals, and physical therapy as needed.Manage wound care, dressings, sutures, and staples post-operation.Fit and educate patients on medical equipment and assistive devices.Handle patient messages, questions, medication requests, and post-operative calls.Schedule and reschedule appointments, tests, and procedures.Record patient vitals accurately.Document all patient care in accordance with standards.Collect and process lab specimens and point-of-care tests.If you're seeking a career impacting patient care and valued team membership, join the Buckeye Community today!
QualificationsCertification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers (ATC) and Ohio licensure.
LPN licensure also accepted.
Previous experience with athletic populations preferred but not required.Current CPR certification.Strong interpersonal skills for sensitive situations.Critical thinking and analytical skills for data interpretation and solution development.Commitment to ongoing learning about evidence-based practice, patient care, quality improvement, and policies.Pay RangeUSD $23.37 - USD $35.06 per hour.
