Contract Type: 6-MonthRole OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Automation / Controls Engineer to support ongoing automation activities at our Client’s Shannon site. This is a 6-month contract role, ideally suited to a hands-on engineer with strong PLC and HMI development experience in an Allen-Bradley–based environment.The successful candidate will work primarily on equipment support and integration, with potential longer-term involvement in new machine build projects.This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a technically diverse environment where exposure to advanced motion control, robotics, and process control systems is advantageous.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, modify, and support PLC and HMI applications for automated manufacturing equipment.Support new machine build projects, including software development, testing, commissioning, and site acceptance.Integrate 3rd-party equipment into Allen-Bradley–controlled systems.Develop and maintain machine safety code in accordance with relevant standards.Support and troubleshoot servo, motion, robotics, and vision systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, process, and validation.Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including SDS inputs and software documentation.Provide on-site support during commissioning, debugging, and production ramp-up.Technical Skills & Experience (Wish List)Candidates are not expected to meet all requirements, but experience in several of the following areas would be highly beneficial:MagneMotion or similar intelligent motion systemsVision system application development and integrationExperience integrating OEM or vendor-supplied equipment into Allen-Bradley architecturesIdeal Candidate ProfileStrong background as a PLC / Automation EngineerComfortable working across PLC, HMI, vision, robotics, and motion controlSolid understanding of industrial automation standards and best practicesProven experience integrating complex systems and 3rd-party equipmentStrong documentation and communication skillsSelf-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environmentAdditional InformationThis is an on-site role based in ShannonPotential opportunity to support future new machine build programs
