We are hiring Basic Grade Cardiac Physiologist in a Hospital in Dublin,Ireland.
Responsibilities Perform diagnostic procedures and examinations, accurately reporting results and identifying any abnormal findings.
Ensure calibration, routine servicing, and maintenance of all equipment, including sterilisation where required.
Obtain comprehensive patient histories and interpret referral and requisition documentation.
Contribute to patient care through appropriate preparation, reassurance, and support.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and electronic databases.
Adhere to Health and Safety legislation and promote safe working practices at all times.
Demonstrate commitment to the education, training, and supervision of students and trainee physiologists.
Initiate and participate in the management of medical emergencies, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Undertake additional duties relevant to the role as reasonably required.
Maintain current knowledge of evolving protocols, standards, and best practices in diagnostic cardiology.
Perform and interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs), identifying and reporting abnormal findings.
Conduct 24-hour Holter monitoring, including patient set-up, technical data download, analysis, and interpretation.
Undertake 24-hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM), including patient set-up and data analysis.
Carry out event monitoring, including patient set-up and interpretation of recordings.
Perform Exercise Stress Testing, including patient preparation, monitoring, and interpretation of results.
Provide technical support within the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, including assistance with angiography and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), and demonstrate competence during emergency procedures.
Perform Tilt Table testing.
Conduct interrogation and follow-up of loop recorders, pacemakers, and Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (ICDs).
Perform Trans-thoracic Echocardiography (TTE).
Requirements Hold the MPPM Certificate and/or MSc in Cardiological Science (MSCST) awarded by the Society of Cardiological Technicians, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
Be an Associate Member of the Society of Cardiological Technicians.
Have a minimum of one year's experience working in a similar clinical environment.
Demonstrate excellent supervisory, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Show the ability to work effectively both as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently using own initiative.
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to the rapid changes within a hospital environment.
