Role: Health & Safety Coordinator
Reporting To: H&S Manager
Responsibilities: Complete all the tasks efficiently and to a high standard to ensure the Health & Safety Function runs smoothly.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Comply with all company H&S policies/procedures and/or regulatory requirements.
* Support the sites overall company and regulatory H&S compliance.
* Support the development and implementation of the Health and Safety Management System across the site.
* Support H&S programs to include but not limited to: Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Operating Instructions (OI's), Risk Assessments, Contractor Management and Process Safety.
* Support H&S department in Chemical Management (COMAH, REACH, CLP) and ATEX.
* Assist in developing and providing H&S related training to departments as required.
* Advise and audit (daily checks) the compliance of the H&S programs in accordance with relevant legislation.
* Undertake and assist in accident/incident investigations as necessary.
* Maintain suitable and sufficient H&S records.
* Work closely with the EH&S Manager and other departments to continuously improve all H&S programs.
* Control and Manage PPE Stock.
* Control and Manage H&S Training Matrix.
Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety or a related field desirable
* 1+ years' experience in a similar position within manufacturing industry.
* Proficiency in computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Good leadership and training abilities.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Good attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Demonstrates ability to work to tight time schedules,
* Be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels internally and externally to the company.
* Background and interest in Chemical Safety Management would be advantageous.
* Relevant training certs advantageous (first aid, fire warden, manual handling instructor, etc).
* Undertake any other tasks appropriate to the position, as requested by management.
* Flexible working hours are required for this role to meet company needs.
