Job Title: Senior MRI Radiographer Department: Radiology Job Type: Permanent Hours: 35 hours per week (Full-Time) Blackrock Clinic is the leading and longest established private hospital and clinic in Ireland. Role Purpose: To undertake diagnostic imaging procedures as required. In the absence of the MRI Clinical Specialist Radiographer undertake primary responsibility for the day to day running of the Department, including vetting and reporting equipment faults Carry out regular audits in the department to aide quality improvement initiatives Qualifications/Experience: Candidates must possess. BSc in Radiography or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years experience in MRI. Key Responsibilities: Ensure a high standard of patient care is maintained. Lead in the provision of a radiography service in a professional manner. Allocate workload to facilitate efficient workflow and maintenance of service user throughput. To take part in on-call services and extended working day as required. To ensure that the three principles of radiation protection, namely justification, optimisation (ALARA) and dose constraints / limits are adhered to. To be familiar with and adhere to SI No. 478 of 2002. Responsibility for daily / weekly QA within the MRI department Report any malfunction of defects in equipment to the Radiology Services Manager or deputy. Support the Radiology Services Manager in the implementation of initiatives aimed at improving and developing the service. Comply with policies and procedures at Blackrock Clinic as regards Health & Safety, Infection Control, Disposal of Waste, Sharps, Accident and Incident Reporting, Complaints Procedure, Fire Policy and Evacuation. Cooperate and take part in the Blackrock Clinic Mission Statement in dealing with patients and other clinic staff members. Be familiar and comply with the Radiology Department Guidelines, Local Rules and Department Protocols. Undertake, when necessary, administrative and clerical tasks to facilitate the smooth running of the department. Develop operational policies, protocols and guidelines to maximise resources and to ensure systematic audit of such usage. Management of Radiography Personnel Initiate the implementation of a staff development and individual performance and foster a high level of morale by motivation and communication. Participate in the teaching, training and supervision of new staff members Maintain up to date knowledge of new developments and promote awareness of these amongst colleagues. Communication Maintain patient confidentiality at all times Self-directed with excellent interpersonal communication skills. Proven successful people management skills along with an understanding of clinical governance.
