The Role
We are looking for a Building Services Commissioning Consultant to join our expanding international consulting team. You will play a key role in sustainability and LEED-focused projects, with a primary emphasis on LEED Commissioning, Operational Energy Analysis, Energy Auditing and Measurement & Verification.
This role involves working with real-world building performance data, including BMS trend data and energy meter data, to identify inefficiencies and support building optimisation. You will contribute to post-occupancy energy reviews and energy audits, helping clients understand how their buildings are performing against design intent and benchmark targets, and identifying practical opportunities to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.
This role is well suited to someone with a general building services design background who is keen to develop specialist experience in LEED commissioning, energy auditing, operational energy analytics and M&V. Project-based training will be provided.
You will work across projects in Ireland and internationally, with opportunities (though not a requirement) to spend time working in different global locations.
What You’ll Do
Support and deliver LEED Commissioning and Measurement & Verification projects across a range of building types and scales
Conduct and support energy audits across commercial, public and institutional buildings, assessing building fabric, mechanical and electrical systems, controls and operational practices to identify energy saving opportunities
Prepare detailed energy audit reports in line with recognised standards (e.g. ASHRAE Level audits and SI 426 compliance audits), including prioritised recommendations with indicative cost and carbon savings
Develop and implement Measurement & Verification Plans in line with IPMVP protocols, tracking and reporting energy savings against an established baseline
Analyse utility and sub-meter data to assess building energy performance, identify consumption anomalies and quantify savings achieved through energy conservation measures
Review and interrogate BMS trend data to evaluate the performance of HVAC systems, including AHUs, fan coil units, chillers, boilers and heat recovery systems
Identify control strategy issues, setpoint anomalies and mechanical faults through data-driven analysis, and prepare clear technical reports with actionable recommendations for building operators and clients
Benchmark building energy performance against recognised standards and best practice figures, and support clients in developing roadmaps for energy reduction
Review and interpret design and construction documentation, including HVAC, mechanical and electrical system designs
Support LEED energy modelling activities where required
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external project stakeholders
Develop your technical capability through structured project-based training, including use of IESVE software
Skills & Experience
Degree in engineering (building services, mechanical or similar) or demonstrable equivalent experience
Familiarity with MEP systems, controls and Building Automation Systems
Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience, including HVAC design and on-site project experience
Ability to read and interpret design and construction documents, including MEP systems, HVAC layouts, schematics, plans and schedules
Strong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
Nice to have
Experience using building simulation software (training on IESVE will be provided)
Understanding of the commissioning process and field experience
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Certification from Association of Energy Engineers (AEE)
Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVPI) or knowledge of the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol
Awareness of ASHRAE standards for energy efficiency and ventilation
Why Join Us
Be part of a world leading climate tech organisation
Work on impactful, global sustainability and energy efficiency projects
Collaborate with industry leading building physics experts
Supportive, innovative and inclusive working environment
Flexible working, and the opportunity to grow your career while doing meaningful work.
Our Commitment to Inclusion
