Orange Recruitment are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental, Health & Safety Lead to take ownership of all EHS activities on a landmark construction project located in the heart of Dublin. This is a key leadership position for an individual who is passionate about safety, thrives on responsibility, and wants to make a meaningful impact on one of Ireland's most prominent developments. As the EHS Lead, you will oversee a dedicated safety team and work closely with the wider project leadership to ensure the highest standards of safety, environmental responsibility, and wellbeing are achieved across every stage of construction.
Responsibilities:
* Lead all Environmental, Health & Safety activities for a major Dublin-based project.
* Implement and manage the company's EHS management systems in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
* Provide clear, visible, and confident safety leadership, engaging, motivating, and guiding both your EHS team and project personnel.
* Collaborate with the Project Director, Construction Managers, and subcontractors to ensure EHS standards are fully integrated into daily site operations.
* Identify potential hazards and apply forward-thinking measures to prevent incidents before they occur.
* Maintain and develop the site-specific EHS Management Plan, risk registers, and control strategies.
* Conduct regular audits, inspections, and performance reviews, ensuring prompt follow-up on corrective actions.
* Manage incident investigations, including root cause analysis, reporting, and implementation of preventive measures.
* Coordinate with clients, consultants, and statutory bodies on all EHS-related matters.
* Deliver and oversee safety training, toolbox talks, and safety campaigns that promote positive behavioural change.
* Track, analyse, and report EHS performance metrics to senior management and project stakeholders.
* Champion a collaborative, open culture where safety ownership is shared by everyone onsite.
* Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, innovation, and alignment with industry best practice.
Requirements:
* Degree or Higher Diploma (Level 8 or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related discipline.
* 8-10 years' experience in an EHS leadership role within a main contractor or PSCS environment.
* Proven track record managing safety on large-scale, complex construction projects.
* Strong working knowledge of Irish safety legislation, environmental standards, and ISO management systems.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence behaviour, and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
* Full, clean driving licence.
