Our client, renowned for its excellence in delivering complex construction projects, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Planner to play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of this project. Hybrid working is available for this role.
As the Senior Planner, you will play a critical role in the planning and execution of a high-profile pharmaceutical or data centre project (depending on your experience). Your expertise in utilising Primavera P6 software will be integral in creating, maintaining, and updating project schedules. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the project's success by optimising resource allocation, identifying potential risks, and providing strategic planning insights.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6, encompassing all project phases from inception to completion.
* Could you collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and integrate them into the scheduling process?
* Monitor project progress, identify schedule deviations, and recommend corrective actions to ensure adherence to timelines.
* Analyse project plans and schedules to proactively identify potential risks, bottlenecks, and optimisation opportunities.
* Please prepare regular progress reports, presentations, and visualisations to help project stakeholders communicate effectively.
* Conduct scenario analysis and "what-if" assessments to evaluate the impact of schedule changes and propose alternatives when necessary.
* Provide leadership and guidance to junior planning team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
* Participate in project meetings, offering expert insights on scheduling matters and collaborating with teams to solve challenges.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by implementing best practices, process enhancements, and innovative planning methodologies.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
* Proven experience as a Senior Planner in the construction industry, particularly on Civil Engineering projects (NEC)
* Expertise in using Primavera P6 software for project scheduling and management.
* Strong analytical skills to assess complex project data and derive meaningful insights.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
* Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and quality of work.
* Strong leadership qualities with the capability to mentor and guide junior team members.
* Familiarity with industry regulations, best practices, and emerging trends in construction planning.
