Accountabilities
* Build and maintain robust expertise in relevant therapeutic areas through continuous education and active monitoring of scientific literature.
* Implement local medical plans aligned with brand strategies to address unmet medical needs.
* Engage with key opinion leaders and enhance relationships within specific therapy areas.
* Provide medical-scientific training and education for AstraZeneca employees.
* Offer medical and clinical expertise to support brand strategy and product lifecycle management.
* Coordinate and implement scientific events and educational initiatives for healthcare professionals.
* Collaborate with the Market Access team on scientific communication with healthcare authorities.
* Respond to medical and scientific queries alongside the Medical Information/Patient Safety team.
* Manage Early Access medicine requests according to local policy.
Essential Skills/Experience
* Minimum: Clinical/Life Sciences Degree or 2+ years of relevant experience in medical affairs within a pharmaceutical company
* Strong understanding of respiratory and immunology vaccines and immunotherapies, cardiovascular, renal, and metabolism therapeutic areas or ability to acquire this knowledge rapidly
* Professional experience in the healthcare industry
* High-level scientific knowledge and ability to analyze clinical and scientific data
* Strong communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences
* Excellent project management ability
* Experience liaising with healthcare professionals
* Quick self-learner, standout colleague, and independent worker
* Driving license and willingness to drive within Ireland
Desirable Skills/Experience
* Experience as an MSL or equivalent experience in Medical Affairs within the mentioned therapeutic areas
* Engagement with healthcare regulatory authorities
* Experience in pre-launch, peri-launch, and post-launch phases of product lifecycle management
* Knowledge of local regulatory and market access requirements related to medical affairs activities
* Understanding of legal and ethical frameworks for medicinal product promotion and approval in Ireland
