What We Need:
We are seeking a Lead Technical Artist with deep expertise in materials, rendering performance, and artist pipelines to support our global art teams. In this role, you will bridge the gap between art and engineering—ensuring artists have powerful, scalable tools and workflows while maintaining visual quality and optimal real‑time performance across platforms.
What You Will Do:
Lead and mentor a distributed team of Technical Artists, providing clear direction, feedback, and support to foster professional growth and career advancement.
Collaborate with rendering engineers to create scalable and performant shader solutions across multiple platforms (PC, console, mobile, cloud).
Define material standards, documentation, and best practices for all global art teams.
Own performance metrics related to materials, geometry, lighting, and visual effects, guiding teams toward frame‑rate and memory targets.
Collaborate with Art and Engineering to drive research, workflows, and technologies for improved rendering techniques, performance metrics, and a streamlined content creation process.
Become a proficient user and contributor of the existing toolset and workflow, making any necessary improvements to enhance the capabilities.
Coach, mentor and help team members grow.
Who Would Be A Great Fit:
Minimum of 6-8+ years of game development experience.
Past experience managing a team of technical artists.
A deep understanding of the Unreal Engine and BP system.
Extensive experience using dynamic lighting workflows and PBR materials.
Familiarity with game performance evaluation tools to profile CPU, GPU, and memory performance on multiple target platforms.
Strong knowledge of shader creation via node graph, HLSL or GLSL.
Intermediate skill with Python and C++.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Love for video games.
