About Your New Job
You will work as an Electrical Project Engineer based out of their Carlow office, with regular site visits across Ireland. In this full-time, permanent role, you will support the delivery of electrical engineering works on water and wastewater treatment projects, from design and planning to execution and closeout. You will collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure technical compliance, quality standards, and timely project delivery.
Some of your duties will include:
• Supporting the Project Manager across all aspects of project delivery
• Liaising with suppliers for quotations and technical specification compliance
• Preparing technical submissions, reports, and method statements
• Managing project schedules, resource planning, and financial tracking
• Supervising works on-site, including subcontractors and direct labour
• Performing site surveys and generating works packages
• Overseeing health & safety compliance and maintaining site safety files
• Updating construction drawings and managing project documentation
• Compiling O&M manuals and maintaining variation/change order logs
• Coordinating across teams to ensure delivery schedules are met
What Skills & Requirements You Need
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Electrical Project Engineering role
• Trade-qualified electricians looking to move into project engineering are encouraged to apply
• Experience in the water or wastewater industry is desirable but not essential
• Proficient in AutoCAD and capable of updating construction drawings
• Strong understanding of plant design, construction, and commissioning
• Excellent communication, coordination, and technical reporting skills
• Proven ability to manage contractors and subcontractors on live sites
• Practical, flexible, and solutions-focused mindset with strong commercial awareness
