Clare Tourism Development DAC oversees the management, development, and promotion of a portfolio of signature visitor attractions and sites throughout Clare. Clare Tourism Development is developing these visitor attraction sites and is now seeking to hire an experienced professional with substantial skills in people and facilities management of a hospitality / visitor attraction site.The mission of the Clare Tourism Development includes the provision of a world class visitor experience.The PositionThe position of Facilities Manager is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in playing a significant role within Clare Tourism Development and we are inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for this competition. It is proposed to form a panel of qualified candidates to fill the vacancy of Facilities Manager on a full-time permanent contract.The successful applicant will report to the Head of Operations within Clare Tourism Development and work closely with the Senior Management and Business Unit Managers within, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Knappogue Castle, Craggaunowen Castle and Crannog, Inis Cealtra Visitor Experience and to develop these iconic visitor attractions into a World Class Visitor Experience.Priority areas for the Facilities Manager will be to:· Work closely with the Head of Operations to ensure a functional, accessible, safe and secure environment for visitors and employees and to advance our work in conservation and sustainability.· In conjunction with the Head of Operations ensure that the key objectives within safety and maintenance of the organisation are met by managing workloads that maximises the use of resources.· Providing line management to the facilities team and work closely with the Business Unit Managers. · Ensuring a safe world class visitor experience is provided and helping to embed a culture of a great place to work through trust, respect and safetySPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe main duties of the Facilities Manager will be:· Develop and implement a facility management programme to cover scheduled, preventative, and reactive maintenance.· Procurement and management of maintenance contracts for the Clare Tourism Development sites and any additional new administration premises of the organisation located elsewhere. · Undertake regular facility inspections and oversee statutory and regulatory inspections by contractions and file management.· Recommend and oversee facility refurbishment, installations, renovations as required and work with tenant operations in respect of their lease arrangements.· Monitor facility performance in respect of pest control, energy usage, water usage and waste management with a view to implementing processes to improve.· Respond to facility and equipment breakdowns, alarms and system failures and any other critical operating system.· Resolution of maintenance issues raised by tenants.· Ensuring the highest standards of general maintenance on site.· Co-ordination, operation & maintenance of site security systems including intruder alarm, CCTV and access control systems for Clare Tourism Development.· Co-ordination, operation & maintenance of fire alarm and other safety related systems as required.· Co-ordinator for all utilities and operational supplies on site.· Co-ordination of all site maintenance activities. i.e. contractor activity etc.· Daily liaison and co-ordination with operational management on all facilities and health & safety related matters· Ensure compliance with all company procedures.· Assist with Health and Safety precautions for visitors as per Health & Safety Statement.· Co-Ordinate the annual review of risk assessments and work to develop new and emerging risk assessments.· Assist in the delivery of key objectives including excellent customer care, visitor enjoyment, and health and safety. · Participate in outreach activities to support Clare County Council associated tourist attractions as required.· Such other duties as may be assigned by management.Requirements/Essential Skills and Attributes· Flexibility and a strong problem-solving approach to issues.· Candidate will ideally have a Diploma / Degree in a similar or related discipline in maintenance/ engineering or relevant certifications.· Proven track record in facilities and facilities management/ building management/ maintenance/ operations with at least 3 years management experience.· Good Knowledge of a Building Management System.· Good Knowledge of Health & Safety systems.· Proven organisational skills.· Ability to demonstrate a high levels of teamwork.· A commitment to excellence and world class service delivery.· PC literate and good keyboard skills and Microsoft Office proficient.· Experience of managing people.· Ability to demonstrate a high level of teamwork & motivation skills.· Proven organisational skills & experience in multi-tasking.· A commitment to excellence, continual innovation & world class service delivery.· Ability to enforce Clare Tourism Development DAC standards, policies and procedures with Employees.· Ability to focus attention to details.· Ability to perform job functions to standards under pressure.· Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of visitor and Company information.Additional Information · Strong work ethic with a flexible attitude and approach.· Willingness to put in extra effort to ensure a world class visitor experience is delivered.· Applicants should have a full, clean driving licence.· A strategic approach to the operation, be open to change and have excellent interpersonal skills.· The position will operate principally at the Bunratty Castle and Folk Park and will involve travel to all other tourism sites in the East Clare portfolio.· The post will be operational on seven days a week basis according to business requirements. Hours of operation vary seasonally.Qualifications· Character: Candidates shall be of good character.· Health: Each candidate must be in an excellent state of health and be prepared to complete a full pre-employment medical.· Education, Training, Experience, etc.: Each candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms have;o a) Third level qualification in facilities management or related discipline.o b) Have a minimum of 3 years satisfactory experience in an operational management role with demonstrable experience.· The successful candidate is required to have a current full class B drivers' licence and access to own car.· Salary – Commencing €50,206 - €60,051 through a number of annual increments.
