Job Description
As part of the WH Scott group, Metlab is a provider of non destructive testing (NDT) & engineering inspection services, construction materials testing (CMT), construction quality assurance (CQA), and welding certification services to industry and utility providers nationally and internationally since 1982. We currently have 2 vacancies for NDT Technicians to join our expanding team in Dublin or Cork, these roles will report to the Operations manager for Metlab.
Job Description
As part of the WH Scott group, Metlab is a provider of non destructive testing (NDT) & engineering inspection services, construction materials testing (CMT), construction quality assurance (CQA), and welding certification services to industry and utility providers nationally and internationally since 1982. We currently have 2 vacancies for NDT Technicians to join our expanding team in Dublin or Cork, these roles will report to the Operations manager for Metlab.
Role Responsibilities
Building on existing skills, and developing new technical & scientific skills in the areas of Material Science, Non-Destructive Testing, Welding & Coating Testing /Inspection,
Working closely with Operations Manager, Technical Manager for NDT and Quality Manager to develop personal expertise in the core business of Metlab
Compiling technical reports on tests performed in accordance with company practice
Assisting with equipment maintenance and security policy
Assisting with the operation and upkeep of the quality system
Active participation & input to Safety, Health and Environmental procedures and practices
Keeping pace with emerging technologies and using to best effect for development of the business
Performing NDT methods to Company Procedures in L.P; M.P; E.T; U.T; R.T; V.T; and others as developed from time to time
Develop & apply basic computer skills using MS Word, Excel, and Adobe in the compilation / creation of test reports & certificates using report & document templates approved by the Company
Comply with documented Company Quality and Safety systems
Assist in up-keep, maintenance & calibration of all Company equipment
Assist with up-keep and maintenance of records and files
Attend & successfully complete training courses in test methods and safety requirements as required from time to time
Develop an understanding of national / international & client standards applicable to performing NDT tests and interpretation of results
