We are currently hiring Staff Nurse-Day Ward to join a reputed hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
Responsibilities
Deliver safe, effective, and patient‑centred nursing care to patients attending the Day Ward in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans based on patient needs.
Prepare, monitor, and support patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring comfort, safety, and continuity of care.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records and clinical documentation in line with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Ensure safe administration and management of medications while adhering to clinical guidelines, protocols, and medication safety standards.
Recognise, assess, and respond promptly to patient deterioration, emergency situations, and changes in clinical condition.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with medical staff, allied health professionals, patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated care delivery.
Participate in discharge planning, patient education, and health promotion activities to support positive patient outcomes and continuity of care.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, accreditation activities, and the maintenance of high standards of patient care and safety.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to junior nursing staff and student nurses, and assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the Clinical Nurse Manager when required.
Requirements
Be registered as a General Nurse on the live register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Possess a minimum of 1 year post‑registration nursing experience within an acute hospital setting.
Previous experience in a Day Ward, Surgical Ward, or similar acute care environment is desirable.
Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively within a fast‑paced clinical environment while maintaining high standards of care.
Show a strong commitment to delivering safe, high‑quality, and patient‑centred nursing care.
Hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and maintain competency in emergency response procedures.
Possess good IT, clinical documentation, and record‑management skills.
Demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
