Cloud Database Administrator
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Database Administrator to support the management and optimization of cloud-native databases deployed in Microsoft Azure.
* To succeed in this role, you will need to implement and automate database backup processes, including reporting and restoration testing.
* You will also be responsible for developing, documenting, and testing disaster recovery plans with defined recovery objectives.
* Additionally, you will set up monitoring dashboards, alerts, and conduct regular reviews with stakeholders.
* Regular health checks covering performance, storage, backups, and security will be performed by you.
* Analysing and tuning database queries/code for performance improvements is also part of your responsibilities.
* You will conduct security and compliance audits, implement encryption, and review database access.
* Provisioning and scaling database resources, documenting changes and recommendations is another task.
* You will also support DevOps and CI/CD pipelines with automated deployments and schema updates.
* Maintaining documentation and delivering knowledge transfer/training to internal teams is essential.
* Lastly, providing continuous improvement recommendations on process, technology, and cost savings is a key aspect of this role.
Required Skills & Experience
1. A proven experience as a DBA or Database Developer in an Azure cloud environment is required.
2. Proficiency in SQL and experience with Azure SQL or similar (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, NoSQL) is expected.
