Job Description: Senior Transport Planner/Key Account Executive

About us

Stateline Logistics Group is a fast-growing, family-owned Irish logistics company based in Santry and Ballycoolin, Dublin. With over 30 years in business, we have built a reputation for reliability, professionalism, and delivering a service our customers can trust.

We operate across two core divisions:

* Transport
– A modern fleet of 60+ trucks providing nationwide deliveries with strong communication, safety and performance standards.
* Container Depot
– Secure container storage, handling, and fast turnaround times supported by experienced staff and well-maintained equipment.

We continue to invest in our fleet, technology and people as we expand. It is an exciting time to join a company focused on high standards, teamwork and delivering results.

Due to the scale, pace, and complexity of our business, we are now seeking an experienced Planner/Key Account Executive to oversee the day-to-day operations of 20 drivers and trucks across two of our most important customer accounts. This is a critical role within our organisation, ensuring service excellence, operational efficiency, and strong customer relationships at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of day-to-day operations for two key accounts:

* Book, plan and coordinate jobs for key accounts using our TMS.
* Using GPS tracking systems, continuously monitor trucks and drivers to ensure jobs are on time catching any problems ahead of time and consider if that will impact the plan, e.g. driver not staying on planned route, driver delayed at delivery or collection point for more than 2 hours, traffic, breakdowns, Port closure.
* Adjust driver routes or jobs proactively in the event of delays or unforeseen issues, e.g. if you see a driver is stuck in the Port longer than usual, start thinking of alternative plans to cover the next job due to the domino effect.
* Communicate with customers via email or phone to provide timely updates on job status, e.g. 'driver on site, no issue so far', 'driver still waiting on a bay, we'll let you know when he gets a bay', 'driver is still in the Port for the past hour. The Port seems busy, we'll let you know when he is out of the Port, delivery may be late.
* Address and resolve live issues, such as incorrect references, truck or trailer breakdowns, and problems at delivery or collection points, e.g. when the driver goes into 'waiting time' (we allow 2 hours free time), wrong reference in the Port or delivery/collection site, breakdowns/accidents, traffic, etc.
* Coordinate solutions for delays or disruptions in real time.
* Manage drivers with professionalism, ensuring their working hours align with company policy and Tacho requirements.
* Foster a respectful and supportive environment, acting as a point of contact and support for drivers when needed.
* Listen to drivers concerns, look for solutions if necessary.
* Ensure all relevant information for each job is entered into the booking system, e.g. driver assistance, waiting time, trailer hire, etc. is inputted correctly to ensure all costs are charged.
* Ensure jobs have correct job references entered in the system.
* Report instances of good or bad driver behaviour, damage to vehicles, maintenance issues, customer feedback or any factors that impact the planner's ability to perform their duties or that create additional costs (e.g., a driver not following the assigned route).

On-Call Duties:

* In addition to dealing with the day-to-day operations of the two key accounts, you will be required to be available Monday – Friday to answer driver queries, calls, or texts and send job details to any drivers missing work details.

This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be updated or modified as needed to meet the evolving needs of the company.

Key Skills, Knowledge and Requirements:

* Proven track record in the logistics industry
.
* Minimum 2 years' experience working with curtain-sider or retail transport operations.
* Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to travel independently to our depot in Santry.
* Eligibility to work legally in Ireland.

Additional information

* Competitive salary of €45,000 - €50,000 DOE, inclusive of on-call allowance.
* Hybrid working options may be available following the completion of training and working hours will be agreed during the recruitment process.
