Mbryonics - Junior Optical Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) Engineer

As part of our expansion, we are seeking a motivated Junior Optical Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) Engineer to join our team.
What You’ll Do
* Contribute to optical alignment and test strategies for instruments or subsystems in a production environment.
* Specify and procure optical equipment for assembly, integration, and test activities.
* Assess the performance of approaches within technical budgets.
* Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and system disciplines.
* Perform optical AIT activities in cleanroom and external facilities.
* Present results to project teams and customers.
* Occasional travel to visit customers, suppliers, and test facilities.
* Work collaboratively across departments, including management, procurement, and technical teams.
* Meet with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to define requirements, test plans, and report progress.
* Build strong relationships with suppliers, research partners, and clients.
* Support tender bids.
Who You Are
* Bachelor's Degree in Technical Optics, Physics, Space Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* Experience with optics and optical metrology, including wavefront measurements, lasers, detectors, imaging systems, lenses, and mirrors from UV to IR wavelengths.
* Experience with high-precision positioning systems.
* Proficiency in numerical data handling and scripting (e.g., Matlab, Python, EDEN).
Desired Skills and Experience
* Experience in space or precision optics.
* Ability to develop and document cleanroom processes.
* Experience with optical design software such as Zemax OpticStudio.
* Knowledge of optical and mechanical tolerancing.
* Familiarity with 3D metrology instruments and software.
* Understanding of optical fabrication and coating technologies.
* Procurement experience for complex optical equipment, considering cost and lead time.
* Strong understanding of precision mechanics and drawings.
* Experience working in ISO5/Class 100 cleanrooms.
* Leadership experience in managing small technical teams without disciplinary authority.
