Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Automation)Wexford Salary up to €70,000 depending on relevant experience An excellent opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a specialist manufacturing company. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will take ownership of complex machine designs from concept through to completionTop 3 Things to Know About this Job:Rapidly expanding company with excellent growth and progression routesGlobal projects with industry-leading automation solutionsHigh-impact role with ownership from concept to deliveryThe Role:Lead the mechanical design of packaging systems Create 3D CAD models, detailed manufacturing drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorksOversee projects from concept through to completion Perform risk assessments, tolerance analysis, and host design reviewsCollaborate with Electrical, Controls, and Project Management teams to deliver complete solutionsLiaise with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimise cost and build efficiencyContribute to project documentation including machine manuals and client deliverablesThe Person:• Degree (Bachelor's/Master's) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline• 8+ years' design experience, with at least 5 years in automation or special-purpose machinery• Expert user of SolidWorks and familiar with PDM systems• Strong understanding of pneumatics, servo systems, cams, and mechanical drivesNext Steps:For further information, and to apply for this role, please contact Zoey Rooney.
