Job Description:
Key Responsibilities and Job Duties
* Manage the patient services team, including registration and clearance, admissions and discharge, claims and reimbursement management, medical records filing, health information management, and clinical support.
* Work with the finance team to improve departmental billing and payment processes.
* Deliver patient-focused service, quality, and efficiency.
* Assist the clinical team with management of clinical research trial patients.
* Prepare for accreditation surveys.
* Identify and action training needs for the patient services team.
* Participate in cross-departmental service focus groups.
* Promote the department in a positive way and build sound business relationships with key stakeholders.
* Ensure hospital communication systems support good relations with all stakeholders.
* Provide information and analysis necessary to facilitate good understanding of patient demographics, GP referral patterns, and population trends relevant to the clinic and healthcare generally.
* Provide regular reports to the management team against agreed business development plans, programs, and budgets.
* Deal with any patient queries related to prices, payment excesses, and ensure all patient fees are captured in advance of radiotherapy.
* Liaise with the finance department in relation to the status of patient accounts and capture of patient payments.
* Be responsible for developing departmental rotas in advance and seeking staff agreement re same, while meeting the organization's needs.
* Collate patient satisfaction surveys on a monthly basis to ensure they are forwarded to the management team.
