Your New Role at a Housing Association
Our client, a reputable Housing Association based in Belfast, has partnered with Hays Specialist Recruitment to fill a fixed-term position for a Housing Officer. This 12-month opportunity is designed to cover maternity leave and provides a unique chance to contribute to the association's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing a patch of properties to ensure optimal use of housing stock, rent management, and void management.
* Allocating properties according to the Housing Selection Scheme, conducting accompanied property viewings, and advising new tenants on tenancy conditions.
* Supporting tenants with housing benefit/UC rent arrears and other issues, maintaining an effective filing and computerized diary system.
* Updating tenant information, support plans, household mix, and arrears activity through regular visits and targeted signposting.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 5 years in a similar role.
* Good understanding of the Housing Selection Scheme, Universal Credit/Benefits, and rent arrears management.
* Knowledge of managing Anti-Social Behaviour and working with the maintenance team to manage stock effectively.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
