Overview
The Office of Public Works (OPW) is a key service provider to the Government. Their remit includes preserving and maintaining Ireland’s most iconic heritage properties and estate management and maintenance of the State’s substantial property portfolio, including over 2,500 properties. This includes providing accommodation to central Government Departments, An Garda Síochána and other State agencies.
The OPW Estate Management Division (EMD) is responsible for the management and maintenance of the State’s property portfolio within its remit. The Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineering Section is a section in the EMD. Its main function is the design, delivery and maintenance of M&E building services in existing and new buildings.
The M&E section now has a vacancy for a Senior Clerk of Works (Mechanical and Electrical) in the West/North West Regions (based in either Galway or Sligo). The role will involve arranging and supervising the installation and maintenance of M&E systems, the preparation of contract documents and the supervision of work on site. They will also be part of a multidisciplinary team, working with other building professionals on various projects.
