Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Technical Project Manager
to manage delivery across a team of Java developers working on complex, enterprise-scale systems. This role requires a strong technical foundation combined with proven project delivery experience in structured environments.
You will not be hands-on coding, but you
must
be technically credible, able to understand architecture, challenge estimates, identify delivery risks early, and communicate effectively with senior technical stakeholders.
This role will suit someone who has already delivered multiple technology projects end-to-end and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own and drive delivery of technical workstreams from initiation through to completion
* Manage a team of Java developers and coordinate across technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Create, maintain, and track detailed project plans, dependencies, milestones, and risks
* Act as the primary point of contact for delivery status, risks, and issue resolution
* Ensure delivery aligns with agreed scope, timelines, and quality standards
* Support governance activities including reporting, RAID logs, and steering updates
* Translate technical detail into clear, structured updates for senior stakeholders
Required:
This role is not suitable for non-technical or purely administrative PM profiles.
Essential:
* Proven experience managing
software development projects
in enterprise environments
* Strong understanding of
Java-based applications and architectures
* Hands-on experience working with development teams using:
* Java
* APIs / Web Services
* SQL & relational databases
* Unit and integration testing
* Solid working knowledge of
Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies
* Demonstrated ability to manage delivery risk, dependencies, and technical complexity
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Desirable:
* Experience with Spring Framework
* Exposure to modern frontend frameworks (Angular or similar)
* Familiarity with XML / JSON data formats
* Experience with integration technologies (ETL, Mule or similar tools)
* Understanding of legacy systems and system modernisation initiatives
* Exposure to NoSQL technologies
Additional Requirements
* Must be
immediately available
or on a
maximum 1-week notice period
* Must be comfortable working in a
hybrid Dublin-based role
* Candidates must be able to demonstrate
real delivery ownership
