Helps to determine whether the patient will be admitted. Review patients' medical benefits and financial responsibility forms. May also arrange services for patients, such as transportation.- Communicate with patients, families and healthcare providers to gather required information for admission.- Review and evaluate patient admission requests to ensure eligibility and appropriateness for admission.- Documents patients personal and medical information in the system ensuring all necessary information is completed and approved prior to admission.- Coordinate patient admissions with health care providers, insurance companies and other relevant parties.- Verify insurance coverage and work with patients and families to resolve any issues related to insurance.- Assist patients and families with any question or concerns related to the admissions process.- Performs other duties as assigned- Complies with all policies and standards
QualificationsEducation:- Associate's degree in healthcare administration preferred or- Associate's degree in business administration preferred or- High School Diploma or Equivalent requiredExperience DetailsHospital admissions/healthcare admissions/Patient registration/Patient scheduling/Patient referrals experience 0-1 year preferredOther Skills:- Computer proficiency required.- Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills working with various populations required.- Excellent attention to detail.- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
