Overview
John Sisk and Son are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to assist on an airside & landside civil engineering project at Dublin Airport.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility and ownership of the project, working closely with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager and the construction team to ensure successful delivery, maintain relationships, maximize commercial returns, and manage risks.
Responsibilities
1. Integrate the commercial strategy, amending with MQS to suit the project as it develops.
2. Liaise with & commercially influence/challenge other team members and the construction process.
3. Take ownership of, administer, and represent the company in commercial & contractual issues, including but not limited to:
* Preparing tenders, analyzing, selecting appropriate subcontractors, finalizing subcontractor orders, and managing finances & commercial aspects to final account completion.
1. Prepare & present forecasts, targets & CV reconciliations.
2. Prepare & agree valuations, including generating certificates & invoices/payments.
3. Manage variations with adequate records and agree on work progress.
4. Update projected Final Accounts regularly and prepare, submit & agree on Final Accounts in a timely manner.
5. Involve in value engineering & design development.
6. Maintain & protect JSS commercial & contractual entitlements.
7. Site records/admin & document control.
8. Manage insurance & warranties.
9. Review & update project risk/opportunity plans, monitoring for changes.
10. Manage risks and opportunities arising during the project.
Experience
* 5+ years’ experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in residential/commercial construction projects.
* Ability to communicate articulately, both verbally & in writing.
* Manage people & situations sensitively to gain commercial advantage.
* Commercially inventive & astute.
* Demonstrate ownership and commercial awareness.
* Effective time management, organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
* Experience mentoring and managing others.
* Able to balance assertiveness and pragmatism when dealing with various stakeholders.
