DevSecOps Engineer
Day-rate contract opportunity for a DevSecOps Engineer to join an established IT services company delivering a government programme. The wider team includes cloud engineers and architects, so this role is highly focused on the DevOps and pipeline side, with a strong emphasis on embedding security throughout the delivery lifecycle. You'll be hands-on with CI/CD, automation and platform security within a Microsoft-based environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Own and enhance secure CI/CD pipelines, embedding security controls throughout the DevOps lifecycle
2. Implement DevSecOps practices rather than general cloud engineering or architecture work
3. Build, maintain and secure pipelines using Azure DevOps
4. Integrate security tooling into pipelines (code scanning, container scanning, secrets management,
5. Work closely with developers, cloud engineers and architects to enable secure, automated delivery
6. Support and secure containerised workloads running on Kubernetes
7. Drive best practices around DevOps automation, monitoring and security compliance
Required Experience:
8. Strong hands-on DevOps / DevSecOps experience (not cloud architecture-focused)
9. Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, automation, repos)
10. Proven experience embedding security into DevOps pipelines
11. Kubernetes experience (hands-on preferred)
12. Microsoft technology stack background
13. CKA certification is beneficial to have
