Job Summary
A challenging opportunity has arisen for a Senior Data Centre Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the UK, working on multiple construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess excellent project management skills and have extensive experience in data centre or critical facility sectors.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Procure and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure effective governance across all projects.
* Prepare accurate and competitive tenders for clients, ensuring timely delivery and value for money.
* Lead the preparation and management of project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans, maintaining accuracy and transparency throughout.
* Attend client meetings, building strong professional relationships and representing the company with confidence.
* Maintain confidentiality and adhere to applicable data protection regulations and information security standards.
* Ensure compliance with internal business processes and Construction ERP systems, maintaining accurate project documentation and financial records.
* Lead and uphold health and safety standards for employees and third parties, ensuring compliance with company and legal requirements.
* Monitor financial performance, forecast profitability, and manage project risks and opportunities, providing regular financial reports and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
* Manage, lead, and develop a commercial team, supported by the Commercial Manager, regularly reviewing performance through appraisals and one-to-one sessions.
* Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring seamless documentation and process updates.
Requirements:
* At least 8 years of experience in data centre or critical facility sectors, or equivalent experience in MEP projects.
* Experience with FIDIC NEC (options A - F) Contracts.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
* Quantity Surveyor Bachelors degree (required) and Masters degree (beneficial), or Construction Management.
* Proven experience in evaluating, negotiating, and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
* Strong numerical, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
