Overview PM Group is a leading international engineering, architecture, project and construction management firm. We are seeking an experienced professional responsible for the end - to - end design, installation, management, optimisation, security, and maintenance of the organisation's LAN/WAN network and Voice infrastructure. The role blends hands - on technical expertise with service facilitation, integrating daily operations with strategic network planning. Responsibilities WAN Oversight: Primary technical contact for MSPs; ensures SLAs, circuit performance, and manages change requests. LAN Management: Installation, configuration, and maintenance of switches, routers, cabling, and VLANs. Wireless Management: Overseeing WLAN controllers, APs, SSID configuration, wireless security, and signal optimization. Vendor Management: Manages RFPs, contracts, and technical reviews with carriers and providers. Performance Monitoring: Using tools to monitor traffic and ensure high uptime. Documentation: Creates and updates design documents and technical requirements. Escalation Point: Serve as the top-tier escalation for Tier II helpdesk/system engineers for troubleshooting complex network issues and security alerts. Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure system stability, security, and performance. Administer and configure Cloudflare edge services, including WAF (Web Application Firewall), DDoS protection, and bot management, to protect web assets. Oversee domain management and DNS configuration. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. Certifications: industry certifications such as CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), CCIE, or equivalent certifications in network security. Experience: 5+ years of experience in network administration or management. Technical Skills: Deep understanding of LAN/WLAN technologies, TCP/IP, Ethernet, and network protocols. Understanding of network fundamentals and cloud architecture. Staying Current: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of networking technologies, emerging features, updates, and best practices. Hands-on experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Aruba equipment. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with technical and non-technical staff. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Proactive attitude toward learning and adopting new technologies. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring onsite presence 2-3 days per week. May require occasional travel and after-hours or weekend work for critical updates or incident response.
