Unijobs on behalf of our Public Sector Client are currently recruiting for a Catering Officer 3 position in the Laois area. The position is to be filled ASAP with any interested candidates to be available to commence work immediately. The working week will consist of 39 hours. There is a requirement to work weekends also. The annualised salary is €35,256. Purpose of the Post To Lead and manage day-to-day catering operations to ensure high-quality food services. Professional Qualifications & Experience One of the following qualifications (or equivalent) A degree, diploma or certificate in Hotel and Catering Management or Institutional Management granted by a recognised College after a course of not less than two years OR A diploma in dietetics granted by a recognised College AND At least one year's satisfactory experience in the direction and control of the catering arrangements for an institution or other establishment catering for a minimum of 200 persons per day, OR A total of at least two years satisfactory experience in the direction and control or in assisting in the direction and control of the catering arrangements for an institution or other establishment catering for a minimum of 200 per day AND The requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties in the office. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and train staff to deliver exceptional service and meet quality standards. Plan and execute large-scale events, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to dietary requirements, and guest satisfaction. Collaborate with clients to understand their catering needs and tailor menus to fit their expectations. Maintain inventory levels and coordinate food orders to ensure seamless operations. Handle budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting for catering services. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Key Qualifications: Proven experience in catering or food service management, preferably in a leadership role. Strong organizational and communication skills. Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of food safety standards and health regulations.
