About the Role
An established joinery contractor based in Co. Meath is seeking an experienced Joinery Estimator to join their commercial team. You'll work on a wide range of bespoke joinery projects for the commercial, hospitality, and high-end residential sectors.
You'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, managing tender submissions, and liaising with clients, suppliers, and project teams throughout the pre-construction phase.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and site visits
Take off quantities and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
Analyse tender documentation and prepare commercial bids
Liaise with the design, production, and project management teams
Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving proposals
Monitor and track tender feedback and project cost performance
What We're Looking For
Background in joinery or carpentry (essential)
Strong knowledge of timber types, veneers, finishes, and sheet materials
Understanding of wood waste factors, cutting efficiencies, and production methods
Strong understanding of joinery methods, materials, and workshop processes
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet tight deadlines
