My Client is an award winning, highly innovative M&E Engineering Consultancy who are seeking an Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to undertake design work and technical project co-ordination in their Dublin office.
The successful Principal Mechanical Engineer will lead a busy team providing design and technical services on various project types, including but not limited to Urbanism, Industrial, High Tech, Commercial and Health Care developments.
Knowledge & Skills:
Lead the Mechanical Services design for a range of projects
Design and specification of mechanical services for various types of buildings and sectors
Production of detailed Schematics
Develop the mechanical design standards within the organisation
Mentoring of junior engineering staff
Provide fully detailed tender packages and monitor installation/quality on site until project completion
Tender report / analysis / recommendations
Develop project scope with design team / client
Produce budgets and reports for clients
The role will be primarily office based but will involve some site attendances
Be capable of taking the lead on projects with minimal input from management team
Education & Experience:
The successful Principal Mechanical Engineer will have a Minimum Degree qualification in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
Minimum of 10+ years of Mechanical Building Services Consultancy Design experience.
Chartered status a distinct advantage.
Knowledge & experience working with Revit, exposure to mechanical layouts and systems.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, REVIT.
Familiar with structural, architectural, and electrical models to appreciate space limitations and interferences.
Demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced environment driven by project deadlines.
Highly innovative and motivated with an attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients.
Knowledge of ETCI, CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN Standards
