About The JobTheGraduate Shift Managerwill focus on a comprehensive period of training whereby all elements of production and people management are learned and experienced from a day-to-day perspective in a high volume, best in class production environment.Depending on individual progression, training can be for a period of 1 – 2 years before advancement to a Shift Manager role.Subject to the successful completion of the training period, the Graduate Shift Manager will be promoted to a Shift Manager position and become part of the core production management team.Shift Managers are responsible for the overall leadership, direction and coordination of the Packing, Production, Synergy and Maintenance employees. The Shift Manager will manage shift employees to achieve key business objectives of product quality, order fulfilment, OEE, labour efficiency, health and safety and budget control. The Shift Manager will also act as cover in the absence of the Plant manager and support the Plant Manager in Operations as appropriate.Main ResponsibilitiesWork with a Line Lead to lead the Shift Team to achieve production and packing targets/KPI on a daily basis and lead smaller teams as assigned during the Graduate ProgrammeSet weekly targets and objectives for the Shift TeamEnsure the highest standards of product quality, integrity and hygiene are achieved and improved daily in line with quality and food safety standardsMaintain excellent standards of Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Housekeeping PracticeMonitor and controlling costs within agreed budgetEnsure the safe working practices and conduct of the team, contractors and visitorsEnsure that team are properly trained and managed to work in a safe, quality conscious and effective wayExecute meaningful Performance Development Reviews of teams bi-annuallyDrive systems and processes to eliminate customer complaintsMaintain positive working relationships & ensuring effective communication at all levelsLead the team to optimise performance in terms of output, quality, costs, etc.Ensure all work areas and equipment within your control are regularly and properly maintained to deliveroptimum performanceDrive initiatives to maximise employee contribution and driving improvements in product quality and process efficienciesLiaise with QA & QC, logistics, technical and maintenance teams to achieve optimum resultsResponsible for Danone Internal Controls as assigned to you by the Internal ControllerInterface with HR in relation to employee relations issuesAbout YouExperience and QualificationsMinimum 2.1 honours degree of a Food Science / Food Technology or related disciplineExperience in the Food/healthcare/pharmaceutical manufacturing Industry would be an advantageExperience of using Manufacturing Execution System (MES), SAP and other manufacturing systems desirableKnowledge of international Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Housekeeping Practice standards is essentialKnowledge of quality and food safety legislation desirableA strong understanding of Microsoft technologies and SAP is requiredProven problem solving and troubleshooting skillsExcellent communication skillsAbout UsDanone Nutricia Early Life Nutrition is a division of the Danone Group and the Macroom Supply Point is a strategic spray drying factory within the division as it is a major supplier of infant formula to other plants within the network.
