Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
Description:
This role is responsible for developing and implementing effective environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
A key aspect of the position involves integrating EHS management systems to maintain environmental protection and safe operating conditions. This includes monitoring and reporting on regulatory compliance and improvement initiatives, as well as using data-driven approaches to measure and communicate safety/environmental performance.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and databases related to EHS, leading and coordinating accident prevention programs and education/training initiatives, ensuring contractors comply with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements, and supporting facility safety teams and driving continuous improvement.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement EHS programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
2. Integrate EHS management systems to maintain environmental protection and safe operating conditions.
3. Monitor and report on regulatory compliance and improvement initiatives.
4. Use data-driven approaches to measure and communicate Safety/Environmental performance.
5. Maintain accurate records and databases related to EHS.
6. Lead and coordinate accident prevention programs and education/training initiatives.
7. Ensure contractors comply with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.
8. Support facility safety teams and drive continuous improvement.
9. Conduct regular inspections to ensure conformance to safety and sanitary standards.
Requirements:
* At least 5 years' experience in EHS with a relevant qualification.
* Demonstrated experience in delivering complex EHS projects with progressive scope and depth.
* Advanced professional EHS certification is preferred but not required.
* Good knowledge of regulatory requirements and EHS policies/procedures.
* Strong project/problem resolution skills and ability to think strategically.
* Understanding of computer systems such as Microsoft Office and function-specific software.
* Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
