As a Quality Engineer, this individual will be part of an exciting team working with a combination of different technologies, testing and working on the latest product offerings in Optum.
You will help with solving technically complex problems and you should be comfortable providing guidance to the junior members of the team and to other key stakeholders as appropriate.
This role will involve working with a distributed, global team with multiple stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities: Work closely with business units, Senior Development Manager, Technology, and other teams in understanding the functional and technical design for processes identified for application and platform developmentAssesses and interprets customer needs and requirementsIdentifies solutions to non-standard requests and problemsDesign reusable components, frameworks, and librariesEnsure quality of coded components by using best practiceComply with and helps enforce design and coding standards, policies, and proceduresParticipate in an Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases through SprintsCommunicate any identified project risks and issues to the delivery/project manager and provide inputs to the change control processSupport the Operational Teams during the UAT and rollout phasesTraining and mentoring other developers within the team on development and delivery disciplinesDevelop team standards and best practices while keeping up to date with industry standards, and technological changes to help build robust systems to accommodate the industry requirements and business needsBe an individual contributor (very hands-on) as well as able to guide and mentor team members You will be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear directions on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications: Testing, Database, and SQL experienceKnowledge of Selenium Web driver with Java/PythonHands-on Test Execution and Test data preparation experienceExperience developing automated test scripts using Java/PythonExperience testing GUI applications, web services, and/or web applications (backend and frontend)Hands-on experience in SoapUI/Postman and web service testing (Soap and Rest)Demonstrable experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL and with writing SQLExperience of Source Control using GitHubKnowledge of agile development practices and DevOps principles and experience in tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins or Azure Dev Ops Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of PythonExperience and familiarity with Azure services and solutions, including infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS)Knowledge of Jenkins or some other CI/CD processes and in-sprint automationHands-on frameworks like TestNg, cucumber, robot framework, etc.
