The role
Electrical Engineering Lead – Data Centres – Ireland/Remote + Global Travel
Our client is an established main contractor working across Europe specialising in the delivery of Data Centre construction projects on behalf of global blue-chip clients. They offer a full turnkey service for their clients from design, construction and handover across the full range of CSA (civil, structural, architectural), MEP (mechanical and electrical) and commissioning works
The need now exists for an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead on Data Centre construction projects globally.
Responsibilities
Electrical Strategy & Architecture
Own and develop scalable electrical architectures and platform standards across global mission-critical projects, defining power topologies, redundancy strategies, and best practices for substations, MV/LV distribution, UPS, generation, and critical power infrastructure.
Concept Design & Technical Leadership
Lead electrical engineering during concept development, feasibility, and client engagement, translating complex requirements into buildable solutions through load modelling, capacity planning, and selection of optimal power infrastructure.
Modularisation & Delivery
Drive electrical solutions aligned with modular and prefabricated delivery, defining standardised power modules, interface strategies, and deployment approaches that enable repeatable, efficient global project execution.
Systems & Operational Performance
Ensure electrical systems are designed for reliability, resilience, and operational performance, supporting troubleshooting, technical assurance, and continuous improvement across live and delivered facilities.
Commissioning & Reliability
Support commissioning and energisation strategies, ensuring electrical systems are validated, tested, and fully operational, with clear responses defined for normal operation, maintenance, and failure scenarios.
Standards & Innovation
Establish and maintain electrical engineering standards and governance while driving innovation in power infrastructure, supporting evolving technologies, increasing densities, and next-generation data centre requirements.
Requirements
Must have 10+ years’ experience in a similar role on large scale construction projects including Data Centres
Must have relevant experience degree level qualifications
Base in Ireland and EU Passport is preferred
Must be willing and able to travel internationally when required
Benefits
€130,000 - €140,000 + 20% bonus + €7k Car Allowance + Daily Living Allowance when in another country
