As we continue our journey toward becoming Ireland’s most trusted and sustainable business, we have an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to join our team as HR Manager.
This role is within the Employee Relations and Policy Centre of Expertise (COE) of Musgrave and covers all Musgrave business in ROI. This role is ideally suited to a solicitor or barrister with a solid employment law background. You will provide trusted counsel to the Company, Heads of HR, Business Partners and Retailers on employment law, policy and compliance related matters.
* Respond to and support on all employment law queries across Musgrave in ROI.
* Lead the development and review of all policies, ensuring they are legally compliant and updated to reflect employment legislation changes.
* Develop, review and standardise contracts of employment across Musgrave.
* Develop, standardise and implement effective policy strategies across Musgrave.
* Create the compliance agenda and manage its implementation across Musgrave.
* Manage the eligibility to work processes across the business, including creating process maps and liaising with the relevant teams to ensure the processes continue to be fit for purpose and effective.
* Support internal ER processes, as required (e.g. investigations, grievances).
* Draft, review and/or amend letters/documents and third-party submissions (both retail and internal), as required.
* Manage the Daybreak, SuperValu and Centra (over 1200 stores) HR Helpdesk and act as the point of escalation for queries.
* Prepare and present at the annual retail and internal HR Forums.
* Deliver webinars both internally and with retailers on ER and employment law matters.
* Engage with retailers on regular basis through various mechanisms such as PComms, webinars and attending retail meetings.
* Manage the HR Support Dashboards for SuperValu, Centra and Daybreak (i.e. updating template contracts to ensure compliance, maintain and update template letters, add any new material, as required).
* Manage the annual Retail Pay and Hours Survey for SuperValu, Centra and Daybreak.
* Engage with policy/regulatory matters as part of consultation processes.
* Support acquisitions, as required.
* Support HR projects and other HR work, as required
What we’re looking for
* Background in law, ideally having practiced as a solicitor or barrister for 3 or more years in (or including) employment law.
* Degree in Law and/or having completed FE-1s, PPC 1 & 2 with Blackhall Place/Law Society or Barrister-at-Law Degree from The Honorable Society of Kings Inns.
* Excellent written and communication skills, including presentation skills
* An in-depth knowledge of employment law in RoI
