Your Role as a High Support Housing Team Leader
Cork Simon Community is seeking a compassionate and experienced High Support Housing Team Leader to oversee the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed support to residents at Tir na nOg, one of our High Support Housing locations.
In this pivotal role, you will lead a dedicated team providing intensive, on-site support to individuals with complex needs who are not currently able to maintain independent living. You will ensure a safe, homely, and empowering environment that promotes recovery, stability, and social integration.
This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact by ensuring consistent, person-centred support across Cork Simon's High Support Housing services.
Key Responsibilities
* Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead and support the Tir na nOg team, providing supervision, direction, and development opportunities for Project Workers and volunteers across High Support Housing services.
* Service Participant-Centred Support: Promote a trauma-informed, person-centred approach to care planning, harm reduction, and recovery, ensuring residents have a voice in decisions that affect them.
* Operational Oversight: Oversee day-to-day operations at Tir na nOg, including staffing, health and safety, medication management, and maintaining a comfortable, homely environment.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and risk management procedures, including fire safety, lone working, and incident response.
* Collaboration & Partnership: Work closely with other High Support Housing Team Leaders, the Head of Specialist Housing and Support Services, and external agencies to ensure cohesive and consistent service delivery.
* Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate records using internal and external databases (InForm, PASS, Viclarity) and contribute to service reports, audits, and evaluations.
* Administration & Finance: Manage staff rosters, petty cash, budgeting processes, and ensure transparent financial administration in line with organisational policy.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Relevant Experience: At least two years' experience in homeless or social care services, including supervisory or team leadership experience supporting individuals with complex needs.
* Educational Background: A third-level qualification in Social Care, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
* Strong Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, and professional growth.
* Trauma-Informed Practice: Deep understanding of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and housing-first principles.
* Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage positively with residents, staff, and external partners.
* Decision-Making & Crisis Management: Calm, proactive, and solution-focused in responding to challenging or crisis situations.
* Administrative Competence: Skilled in record keeping, report writing, and compliance with standards such as NQSF and organisational policies.
