Commercial Finance Manager

Role Title: Commercial Finance Manager
Role Purpose:
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced commercial accountant to join our Group finance commercial team.
The successful candidate will support the business and finance function through project appraisal, new business model development, challenging project performance, forecasting, and analysis in conjunction with the Commercial / QS teams. Additionally, they will work on process improvements across the group, including within the ERP system and streamlining daily productivity reporting.
This role will collaborate across the Group's businesses to challenge performance in our Networks, Modular solutions, Events, Industrial Scaffolding, and In-home business units.
This position requires a dynamic professional with strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a close-knit finance team and access to advanced finance systems tools.
Principal Responsibilities:
1. Understand project performance, outlook, and expectations by working closely with and challenging the commercial team on operational performance.
2. Collaborate with the financial control team to ensure accurate month-end project performance analysis and a fully reconciled balance sheet by project.
3. Support ongoing financial forecasting and participate in quarterly and annual budget processes.
4. Build strong relationships with the commercial team to understand revenue and cost drivers, and lead detailed financial reviews of relevant projects.
5. Develop cross-functional relationships to improve the flow of key information and ensure timely, consistent data delivery.
6. Manage working capital, focusing on debtor and WIP collection, escalation management, and aged debtors.
7. Drive process improvements, including enhancements in the ERP system and reporting transparency, such as daily and weekly productivity reports.
8. Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures within your work environment.
Requirements:
* Qualified Accountant with over 4 years of post-qualification industry experience.
* ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualification.
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
* Proficiency in data analysis and accounting software.
* Broad knowledge of accounting principles.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Assertiveness to ensure controls are followed.
* Energetic with a positive, can-do attitude.
* Ability to identify and drive change.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with management.
