Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the technical service department, supporting both internal and external stakeholders in delivering a best-in-class technical service offering.
* Manage a team of engineers as well as a service coordinator and an equipment coordinator.
* Maintain a high level of support to customers including repair turnaround time, breakdown response time and on-time routine servicing.
* Advise and ensure all staff are up to date with technical training, best practices and monitor this by site visits and service/repair test result audits.
* Coordinate test equipment calibration and keep files up to date in accordance with ISO and manufacturers policy.
* Work closely with suppliers regarding new testing methods, updates and advice.
* Support the sales team with technical assistance and product promotion when required.
* Liaise with customers regarding service contracts and quotations for repairs, and build relationships with key hospital personnel.
* Work closely with the sales and admin team on tender documentation and service pricing.
* Source and interview potential new engineers/service administration candidates when required.
* Ensure good customer relations are maintained with Bio-Medical/Clinical Engineering and frontline medical staff.
* Plan and carry out new equipment installations.
Qualifications & Skills
* Qualification in Biomedical, Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
* 5+ years' experience in the Medical Device industry.
* Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and management systems.
* Customer focused, well organized, and ability to manage and expand the technical service department.
* Experience in managing projects with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
* Ability to influence and lead change across all levels.
* Strong interpersonal, organisational and planning skills.
* Experience in applying knowledge on standardisation to practice / process.
* Excellent IT skills including MS Office (MS Teams, Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint).
