Job DescriptionJoin our fabulous team at The Fleet Hotel as a Commis Chef.The Kitchen Porter is an important position working closely with the Head Chef & Kitchen Team. About The FleetThe Fleet Hotel is a wonderful boutique style Hotel located in the centre of Dublin on the edge of Temple Bar.
It comprises of some beautiful period buildings including the iconic Bewleys Café, much loved by Dubliner's for decades.
The Fleet Hotel is synonymous with local Dublin history, before becoming the Fleet Hotel, 19/20 Fleet Street was home to Bewley's Café which was established by Ernest Bewley in 1905.
Bewleys were known to be one of the finest Tea Houses in Europe and a favourite with Dubliner's for generations.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, peeling, and marinating.Follow recipes and guidelines provided by senior chefs for accurate and consistent food preparation.Assist in cooking dishes under the guidance of more experienced chefs.Operate kitchen equipment and machinery following safety standards.Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of kitchen waste.Ensure a tidy and sanitary work environment in accordance with food safety regulations.Assist in monitoring and managing kitchen inventory, including stock rotation and restocking supplies.Report any shortages or discrepancies to senior chefs.Follow established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines to maintain consistency.Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.Support the kitchen team during busy service periods, including preparation and plating of dishes.Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service.Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks.About The RoleRequirements Previous culinary education or relevant experience in a kitchen environment.Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.Enthusiasm for learning and developing culinary skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding kitchen environment.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards.Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.Willingness to take direction and learn from experienced chefs.About Windward ManagementThe Fleet Hotel is managed by Windward Management.Windward Management is a team of highly experienced hotel operators and investors with a hotel portfolio of approx.
