 
        
        Job Purpose: Participate in site safety and environmental activities and ensure that site operations comply with legislation and best practice.
Provide technical safety and environmental expertise, support, coaching, and mentoring to all departments and personnel on site.
Implement standardized and comprehensive EHS programmes across the site that meet best practice standards, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Requirements: Passionate about EHS and achieving excellence, demonstrating this in previous projects and employment.
Holds a degree in Environmental Science, EHS, or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year working in an API facility or similar and be able to express and show experience of working with hazardous chemicals, ATEX, chemical process safety etc.
Strong technically, with a hands-on and collaborative approach to supporting EHS requirements across the site.
Has an entrepreneurial mindset and is comfortable working in teams or using their own initiative; collaborative working style.
Experienced in implementing and executing successful EHS programmes that drive continuous improvement within manufacturing operations and align with current and future EPA and HSA compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Actively foster, in cooperation with other personnel, an ethos and culture of safety awareness, where safety is accepted and expected as an integral part of the overall business.
Work with all personnel, contractors, and visitors to ensure that all safety policies, procedures, and regulations are fully adhered to across the site.
Notify the appropriate responsible persons in a timely and comprehensive manner of any breach of EHS policy, procedure, or regulation, or any potential hazard which could have a serious impact on safety or result in serious personal injury.
Notify the appropriate responsible persons in a timely and comprehensive manner of any EHS issue which could relate to our clients general compliance status, legal or insurance matters, employment law, public relations, or similar concerns.
Investigate, support, and, where appropriate, manage any incidents that occur on-site and ensure that Accident Reports / Unplanned Events reporting forms are completed promptly.
Carry out regular safety compliance inspections to ensure health and safety procedures and policies are being implemented effectively.
Ensure that safety audit action items are addressed and closed out in a timely manner.
Coordinate the approach and activities for the safe handling of all raw materials, key intermediates, and active materials on site.
Develop and provide safety training as required.
Provide leadership and coaching to all employees on the compliance requirements associated with regulatory standards and site EHS programmes.
Perform other duties as required by the Head of EHS or Site Leadership Team.
