FRS Recruitment is supporting Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) with the appointment of an Audit & Risk Manager, a senior role reporting to the Head of Governance, Risk & Compliance.
This is a high-profile position with responsibility across risk management, internal audit, insurance and governance for the HRI Group and a number of shared-service entities.
The role offers strong exposure to Senior Management, Board and Risk Committees.
The role This is a broad and influential role suited to an experienced risk or audit professional.
Key responsibilities include: Leading and enhancing HRI's risk management framework, ensuring risk principles are embedded in operational decision-making Managing the internal audit process, coordinating with the outsourced internal audit provider from planning through to delivery and follow-up Preparing risk assessments and reports for Senior Management, Board and Committees Overseeing insurance programmes and claims management across the Group Managing inputs to the Annual Report, including the introduction of sustainability reporting Driving continuous improvement, automation and improved use of data and BI tools Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across multiple business units About you Professionally qualified accountant ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CPA 10+ years post-qualification experience, including at least 4 years in a risk-focused role within a commercial or semi-state environment Strong understanding of governance, controls and regulatory frameworks Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Proven ability to manage complexity and competing priorities Interest in ESG and sustainability reporting is desirable An interest in horse racing is an advantage, but not essential Why consider HRI Senior, visible role with real influence Broad remit across audit, risk, insurance and governance Hybrid working model Purpose-led, nationally recognised organisation Long-term, permanent opportunity For a confidential discussion about this role, contact Bernadette Sisson at FRS Recruitment or apply on the link.
