We are seeking to recruit aAssistant Financial Controller,to join the Service Excellence Team in our rapidly growing Firm. Our Service Excellence Team ensures all aspects of the Firm operate smoothly and efficiently. As anAssistant Financial Controller, you will be working directly with the Head of Finance and Finance Partner to provide support to the wider Firm. What you will be doing: As theAssistant Financial Controller, your role will include: Coordinate and manage payment and billing details of external service providers, contractors and vendors. Verify payments and deposits made through the company account and coordinate with the bank. Working with journals, sales & purchase ledgers and spreadsheets. Create financial documents such as bills, invoices, pay-orders, payables, receivables and purchase orders. Maintenance of cost code system and matching invoices to same, work with Business Service Managers and Partners on the operation of the cost code system. Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them. Expenses review of all expense claims and processing of same for approval and payment. Manage payroll activities and release salaries. Reconcile accounts accurately. Allocate and post payments accurately. Investigate and close out account queries in a professional and timely manner including posting of credit notes. Maintain confidentiality of financial information. Create monthly reports for management and team members. Continuously improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the department. Ensuring Finance policies and procedures are being adhered to (e.g. invoicing approval procedure for suppliers). Provide support to the client facing team. Preparation and submission of regulatory returns. Ad-hoc Projects. Required Experience: Proven experience (2+ years) as a qualified accountant or in a related financial role. Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organisational and planning capabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. IT Literacy with a track record of using full MS Office Suite in particular experience in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Strong attention to detail Ability to prioritise, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Experience in tasks involved in closing accounts at month-end (preparing a trial balance etc) is a bonus Key competencies: Technical Experience with QuickBooks and practice management software is an advantage. Analytical exceptional analytical and quantitative skills; high level of proficiency in MS Excel and other MS products. Initiative ability to take the initiative, work with limited supervision (although, we will be there to support you). Dynamism desire to work in a fast-paced environment with a highly energetic and motivated team. Flexibility willingness to adapt to varying and changing client demands.
