Role Overview
We seek a detail-oriented QHSE Compliance Specialist to lead the implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement of quality assurance systems and regulatory compliance frameworks.
The role focuses on maintaining internationally recognised management standards, ensuring conformance with Irish and EU legislation, and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 management systems.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct internal audits to verify compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contractual quality requirements.
- Manage and engage ISO re-certification audits, ensuring full organisational readiness.
- Analyse non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Establish, review, and maintain documented quality procedures, SOPs, and RAMS.
- Promote a culture of quality and compliance through training, workshops, and engagement initiatives.
- Advise management and operational teams on compliance with Irish/EU legislation, including REACH and other relevant directives.
- Conduct risk assessments and oversee quality aspects of environmental and occupational safety processes, including waste/water management and chemical control.
- Liaise with contractors, clients, certification bodies, and regulators to ensure adherence to required quality and compliance standards.
- Utilise digital compliance platforms (EcoOnline) to record, track, and report audit findings, safety observations, and CAPA status.
- Conduct Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Assessments, ensuring ergonomic standards and quality of workplace conditions.
- Train and support staff in Quality Management System (QMS) principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Qualifications & Experience
- NFQ Level 8 degree in Environmental & Sanitary Engineering or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in quality assurance and regulatory compliance, ideally within manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Expert knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001, including audit preparation and system certification.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in compliance management tools and reporting systems.
- Bilingual (English/Portuguese) with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Willingness to travel, commitment to continuous improvement and best practice.
- Solid understanding of Work at Height management, Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments, the promotion of proactive Safety Culture within the workplace.
- Proficient MS Office, SAP, EcoOnline, 5Whys and compliance tools.
- Experience with Mitie's LiveSafe Champions Programme similar safety culture initiatives.
