Are you a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety professional looking to take the next step in your career? Our client, a leading food manufacturing company based in County Mayo, is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join their team on a full-time, on-site basis. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and practices across the site. Ensure compliance with Irish health, safety, and environmental legislation. Conduct regular risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits, and take corrective actions where necessary. Lead health and safety training sessions and toolbox talks for staff at all levels. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and produce detailed reports with recommendations. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness throughout the site. Liaise with external bodies and regulatory authorities as required. Requirements: Relevant Health and Safety qualification (e.g., Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, NEBOSH Certificate, or equivalent). Previous experience in a health and safety role within the food manufacturing or FMCG sector is highly desirable. Strong working knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage teams. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
