Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client have a requirement for a Microsoft Fabric Engineer. Reporting to the Chief Data Solutions Architect the successful Microsoft Fabric Engineer will be working in the Information Management Services (IMS) department. This role will initially be based fully onsite for the onboarding period and then be changing to a hybrid model with 3 days off site and 2 days onsite based in Dublin 8. Working 35 hours per week, the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee and paid an hourly rate of €32.86, this is based off an annualised salary of €60,013. This position also offers 30 days annual leave per year and paid bank holidays. This is also a temporary position; the initial contract length will be for 12 months with the possibility of extension thereafter. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities: Design and implement robust data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory and Synapse Pipelines. Build and manage Lakehouses and Warehouses on OneLake (ADLS Gen2) using Delta Lake. Optimize Spark jobs and SQL queries for performance and cost efficiency. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions. Monitor and govern data flows using Fabric REST APIs, Admin Monitoring Workspaces, and Microsoft Purview. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in shared Fabric Workspaces to support analytics and reporting needs. Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across all stages of the pipeline lifecycle. Must have Skills: Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory. Proficiency in SQL, PySpark, Python, and REST APIs (knowledge of .NET is a plus). Hands-on experience with Delta Lake, ADLS Gen2, and Spark optimization. Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, and automated testing frameworks. Understanding of data classification, lineage, and access control using Microsoft Purview. Knowledge of role-based access control (RBAC), data masking, and Fabric capacity planning. Experience with monitoring tools such as the Capacity Metrics App and Data Gateway Monitoring. Familiarity with Power BI, Teams, Jira, and Confluence for collaboration and reporting. Academic/Professional Qualifications and/or Relevant Experience: Required: Candidates must have at the latest date of application: Have not less than three years satisfactory experience in an administrative capacity within the Technology or Public Sector / Hospital / Health Care environment relevant to the role. Possess sufficient administrative capacity to discharge the functions of the grade. Minimum of Level 8 degree (Honours Bachelor's Degree) in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Note: Candidates must achieve a pass in Ordinary or Higher-level papers, a pass in a foundation level paper is not acceptable. Candidates must have achieved these grades on the Leaving Certificate Established programme or the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme. The Leaving Certificate Applied does not fulfil the eligibility criteria. Desirable: Master's or PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Data Engineering, or a related field. Microsoft Certifications such as: DP-203: Azure Data Engineer Associate DP-600: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate AI-102: Azure AI Engineer Associate Experience with hybrid transactional/analytical processing (HTAP) and real-time streaming using Azure Stream Analytics. Exposure to integrating machine learning models into data pipelines using Azure Machine Learning or OpenAI APIs. Experience with model lifecycle management and inference orchestration in production environments.
