My client is one of Ireland's leading Construction companies. Due to significant growth we look to hire an experienced Contracts Manager to join the team permanently. This role is based in Cork.

Key Responsibilities as Contract Manager

1. Positively and actively drive towards an embedded HS&E culture taking an approach that creates a continually progressive culture driving our number one core value for Safety.
2. Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.
3. Lead all aspects of Project Team functions (PEP, Risk & Commercial Success, Financials, Processes, HSEQS, Stakeholder Management, Project Administration, Design Management & Project Close Out)
4. Compile and implement the Project Execution Plan, with specific reference to the HSE & Quality plan.
5. Review buildability and identify methods of construction with commercial or programme advantage where possible.
6. Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction of structures, facilities, and systems.
7. Develop project plans and schedules and execute plans to achieve agreed outcomes.
8. Co-ordinate project activities in accordance with company Quality System, Standard Quality Procedures and Engineering Specifications.
9. Manage complete day to day life cycle of project from initial stages through to hand-over
10. Meet agreed objectives in the areas of timely delivery, cost, quality and client satisfaction
11. Achieve a 'right first time' philosophy throughout the project life cycle.
12. To be responsible for the successful delivery of project through leadership, management, technical & engineering expertise throughout the project life cycle. Manage the day-to-day site operations of subcontractors on site
13. Manage the workflow of sub-contractors ensuring they're in line with the program of works on site.
14. Attending regular meetings with clients, architects and consultants, and keeping them informed of progress.
15. Quality management and BCAR co-ordination, overseeing quality control and safety matters on the site and ensuring that regulations are adhered to.
16. Handle technical queries when necessary and interface with the client, consultant and architect about RFI's.

Qualifications/Experience:

17. Degree in Engineering discipline, Civil, Structural or Construction Management.
18. Experience – ideally within a main/specialist contractor
19. Excellent communication skills
20. Team player with ability to build effective relationships at all levels
21. Strong interpersonal skills
22. Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the construction industry and project execution.
23. Computer literate and familiar with MS office, project, (or similar scheduling package)
24. Good knowledge of safety management and quality management.
25. Ability to lead with confidence, mentor and motivates staff under them.
