Role DescriptionThis is a contract role for an Information Technology (IT) Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's technology infrastructure, ensuring it supports operational needs and strategic goals. The IT Manager will be responsible for managing IT projects, maintaining network security, ensuring the smooth operation of software and hardware systems, and providing technical support to staff.Key responsibilities include developing and implementing IT strategies, managing IT budgets, overseeing system upgrades, and ensuring that IT infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and secure. The IT Manager will collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs, recommend solutions, and ensure seamless integration of new technologies. The role also involves leading a team of IT professionals, coordinating with vendors, and managing relationships with external service providers.In addition to ensuring system stability, the IT Manager will be responsible for identifying emerging technologies, assessing their potential impact, and implementing innovations that improve organizational efficiency and competitiveness.QualificationsIT Management Expertise: Strong background in managing IT operations, infrastructure, and systems, with experience overseeing the full IT lifecycle, including planning, implementation, and maintenance.Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of networking, databases, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and software/hardware systems. Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks and methodologies such as ITIL is a plus.Leadership and Team Management: Proven experience in managing IT teams, providing guidance and mentoring, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the department.Project Management Skills: Ability to manage IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Experience with Agile, Scrum, or similar methodologies is an advantage.Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to address complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.Security and Risk Management: Expertise in implementing and managing IT security protocols to protect organizational data and systems, as well as a strong understanding of data privacy regulations and industry best practices.Budget and Resource Management: Experience in managing IT budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation to maximize value from IT investments.Vendor Management: Experience in managing relationships with external vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the quality and reliability of outsourced IT services.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with other departments.Relevant Academic Qualifications: A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Certifications such as CompTIA Project+, ITIL, Cisco CCNP, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or other relevant IT certifications are an advantage.
